Shell-EDF venture seeks to build offshore New Jersey wind farm

(Reuters) – Wind farm developer Atlantic Shores Offshore Wind said on Thursday it had submitted a proposal to New Jersey’s utility regulators to supply the state with up to 2,300 megawatts (MW) of wind energy.

New Jersey is one of several U.S. states seeking to acquire 100% of its energy from clean sources by 2050. To help achieve that goal, the state is looking for between 1,200 MW and 2,400 MW of offshore wind energy projects. read more

Dogger Bank Wind Farm developers, SSE Renewables and Equinor, have signed four agreements for power offtake for the entire output of the first two phases of the world’s largest offshore wind farm, Dogger Bank A and B.

Ørsted and Shell Energy Europe have inked 15-year Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) for 40 per cent and 20 per cent of the wind farm, respectively.

The developers themselves have snagged the remaining capacity through Danske Commodities (20 per cent on behalf of Equinor) and SSE Energy Supply (20 per cent on behalf of SSE Renewables). read more

The Royal Dutch Shell-led Crosswinds has earned lease agreements on creating a new offshore wind ranch on the North Sea of the Dutch region.

The wind ranch of 760 megawatts will use practically 70 Siemens Ganesa turbines.

As confirmed by Eneco and Shell, on that particular locale, there will be a floating solar park, storage of short-term batteries, turbines set to minimize the ‘wake impact’ and renewable Hydrogen through electrolysis. The consortium aims at delivering the power amidst power outrage. read more

Shell-led consortium to build 750 MW Dutch offshore wind farm

AMSTERDAM (Reuters) – A consortium led by Royal Dutch Shell has won a zero-subsidy tender to build a 750 megawatt (MW) wind farm in the North Sea off the coast of the Netherlands, the country’s economic affairs ministry said on Wednesday.

The consortium, which also includes Mitsubishi-owned energy company Eneco, will build the Hollandse Kust – Noord project, the ministry said in a statement. The auction was the latest in a series as the Netherlands seeks to reach 3,500 MW of offshore wind power by 2023. read more
