* Decision comes after collapse in oil prices

By Ron Bousso and Shradha Singh

March 30 (Reuters) – Royal Dutch Shell Plc pulled out of a major liquefied natural gas (LNG) export plant under development in Louisiana following the recent crash in oil and natural gas prices that has forced the company to make deep spending cuts.

Energy Transfer LP, which was developing the project with Shell, said it remains focused on the commercial development of Lake Charles and is working toward making an early 2021 final investment decision (FID) to build the plant. read more

Avoid. Hidden Fees And Terrible Customer Service

UPDATE 14/01/2020

After reading the reply from Shell Energy regarding my review, I just wanted to update my review state that She’ll Energy clearly don’t know their products or read these reviews properly!

Avoid.

Terrible customer service, hidden “Cease” fee of £15 even when you have fulfilled your minimum contract with them.

Customer service team do not speak with each other, nice and friendly on Social Media, then arrogantly blunt and rude on any private messages.

Will never use any service that is branded with a Shell logo ever again. read more

By Ron Bousso: 9 January 2020

LONDON (Reuters) – Royal Dutch Shell’s <RDSa.L> New Energies boss Mark Gainsborough will step down in April and be replaced by Elisabeth Brinton, who joined the business in 2018 and will oversee the company’s plans to expand its low-carbon and power business.

Have been on the phone for a total of 90 minutes waiting for them to answer. What a brilliant company

Brian, 7 Jan

As soon as my contract expires I will leave after being with Shell and 1stUtility for many years. Can’t leave earlier due to punitive early leaving charges. Impossible to recommend this company for service or cost.

Anyone tried downloading the shell energy app. What a load of rubbish, sends one in circles trying to log in. Suggested I log in to shell go + app, not fit for purpose for a home energy customer, only if you buy shell fuel at a fuel station. I don’t. Communication between me and shell via email gets no where. read more

Shell-owned floating wind firm to ‘review future’ of Scottish office with oil major

A floating wind firm purchased by Shell in November is to review the future of a Scottish office registered before the buyout, the company’s head of projects said last night.

Brittany-headquartered Eolfi, a French renewable energy developer specialising in floating wind projects, registered the Edinburgh office for Eolfi Scotland in late October 2019.

It was announced that Shell would buy up 100% stake in the company on November 5 – but the deal was not finalised until December 20. read more

Shell boosts Smart Export Guarantee tariff following criticism

Energy supplier moves tariff from 0.001p per kWh to 3.5p per kWh, insisting first price was a ‘pilot’ tariff

Shell Energy has significantly bumped the price it will pay for solar energy produced by domestic customers, after attracting criticism from climate campaigners for initially having the lowest rates on the market.

Under the new Smart Export Guarantee (SEG) launched on Wednesday large suppliers must pay for energy provided to the grid by small scale producers, including people with rooftop solar panels. read more

By John Donovan: 23 Dec 2019

Selection of extracts from pissed off customer reviews about Shell Energy UK posted recently on review sites such as Trustpilot.

(1) Terrible company stay well clear of their broadband

Shell Energy to refund £390,000 to thousands of customers for overcharging on bills

SHELL Energy has been forced to pay £390,000 in refunds and compensation to thousands of households for overcharging on bills after the price cap kicked in.

The supplier, which rebranded from First Utility in March, overcharged roughly 12,000 customer accounts a collective total of £100,734 between January and March this year, regulator Ofgem found.

The price cap was introduced in January, and was aimed at saving 11million households on poor-value tariffs about a billion pounds a year. read more
