As a vulnerable disabled person who is very reliant on a reliable WiFi, Internet service I totally regret signing up with She’ll Energy as it’s extremely unreliable

It is beyond absurd the way this company have treated me. After dialogue with this company about renewing my contract I was assured on multiple occasions that the new rate was in place however they continue to charge me at my old rate hence the multiple staff members I have spoken with simply did not do their jobs as they assured me it was changed yet it has not after multiple assurances. What kind of company employs staff who are simply not doing their jobs and lying to customers? I will now seek legal advice in relation to consumer rights as this company is simply not providing what we have agreed upon in the terms of our agreement. Truly shocking in this day and age that a company treats a customer like this.

Absolutely crap! I was lured by a £95 amazon voucher. The speed is OKish but the router keeps disconnecting my devices and then has a fit itself. When I got the router out of the box I thought it was off wish.com, very cheap looking and apparently also in its operation. I am looking to move next year and am seriously thinking about ‘buying” myself out of the contract earlyread more
“Very unreliable at times. Customer service absolutely terrible. I eventually left for a better provider and had a terrible time trying to get a final bill.”: “Utterly useless. Customer service uncontactable, endless overcharging, broadband speed less than 1/3rd of what they promised. Look elsewhere.”

Very unreliable at times. Customer service absolutely terrible. I eventually left for a better provider and had a terrible time trying to get a final bill.
Many phone calls where they had told me I hadn’t returned the router (I had) and several final bills which included charge for non return of router. I asked several times for correct bill and they eventually without warning referred me to collections agency. I called the agency immediately and they had the correct amount which I paid over the telephone immediately. Avoid this company Poor Broadband and extremely poor customer service.read more

Customer service is poor to non-existent. I am at the end of a 12 month contract with the same problem I reported at the beginning of the contract, that means 12 months of paying for a service that was shoddy and not supported. If you are considering Shell Broadband, I recommend you look again.

Since Shell took over from the Post Office my phone and broadband are nothing but trouble.
All my contacts have told me they are unable to get in touch.
1 – Weird noise on line,
2 – it may ring out and cut off,
3 – it crackles if working at all
4 – have tried several phones but the problem continues.
5 – my tech and phone works fine when tried at friends house
6 – customers service are trying to deal with Post Office customers and Shell customers
7 – They try to make you feel as if I’m the only one complaining
8 The service is not fit for purpose
9 – For any other purchase I am entitled to a replacement or refund. I feel Shell should refund all my payments since they took over from the Post Office.
10 – Shell service is so bad there have been radio programs of people complaining.
11 – Customer service people go through the same script each time I call and tell me there will be charge from OPENREACH if an engineer has to come out.read more

Broadband reliability is nonexistent. lose the signal about 50 times a day. will phone these arseholes tomorrow and cancel my dealings with them. I am sure they won’t miss me but I am sure there are probably thousands of people who think like me.

This bunch of incompetent, inept idiots took over my fathers broadband from the Post Office.Due to illness in July I cancelled his contract and was told that 13 days of his monthly fee would be reimbursed STILL NOT RECEIVED. A month later they reopened his account and took £40, raised the issue with them, guess what STILL NO REFUND. On 4 occasions I have requested a returns label to send their router back, guess what NO RETURNS LABEL SENT. They have now charged £35 for the router, which I couldn’t return as they do not have the capacity to do something as simple as send out a returns label. Look for a bunch of incompetent cowboys to provide your broad back, they’ll still be better than Shell.read more

DONT GO WITH SHELL – it should have zero stars. A series of looping automated online systems and a call back system that was designed to call me and instantly hang up meant it was almost impossible for me to get through to make a complaint. When I did I found out that Shell Customer Services is outsourced to a company or companies with employees in other countries who have no interest at all in Shell’s reputation or indeed providing a service to their customers.I was given a series of contradictory instructions re returning a router which I had done using the original label provided when I joined 3 years ago. I suspect that the address on the labels then has now changed – whatever I was charged for a router anyway because it supposedly failed to arrive. Four weeks had lapsed and by this time I had lost the proof of sending. To actually send that proof now would be extremely difficult since as above the looping system is designed to make it impossible to fill the boxes to enable you to submit a communication. My basic problem with Shell is that every time I call, I’m on the line for 40 – 50 minutes, most of it ‘on hold’: “Actually speaking to a human is near impossible unless you have a spare 2hrs to spend trying to get through.”

Second email telling I am coming to the end of my contract soon and info on continuing price and an offer higher then just agreed. Customer service person spoke garbled english and had no clue after 23 minutes about my new contract. Then cut me off. Absoultely useless CS.read more
Abysmal service. Cannot get through to speak to someone who can actually assist. Biggest regret switching to Shell broadband. They do not care about the customer at all! Broadband was supposed to go live 08 August. Eventually sorted 12th August. Received a bill for more than what was quoted even though I had no service initially. Not a happy customer. Can somebody at Shell broadband please actually help??read more

‘Now after trying to resolve the problem with my account for over 6 months I have just received a phone call from Shell to tell me I don’t owe them anythingBUT MY CREDIT RATING IS F**CKED What a load of incompetent fools ( not my first choice of words ) AVOID THIS COMPANY !’

The content below is sourced from current verifiable customer reviews of Shell Energy published on Trustpilot.
Shell energy broadband customer services are a disgrace. An on going saga of no service for 3 months, and even the complaints team cannot be bothered to call back at the time they arrange. Despite promises to stop taking payments, money is still deducted from my account. Engineers are sent who can’t fix anything and by their own admission are not trained to do the job they are sent to do, so many days work are lost waiting at home for their visit. Shell then have the audacity to charge you for a visit that that have sanctioned and require without any acceptance of costs or terms and conditions. Managers do not call back despite assurances that you will get a call. I would suggest that you avoid this internet service provider unless you have hours and hours to spend on hold on the telephone, or days and days to wait in for inadequate engineers, and you have no need for any Wi-Fi and you enjoy listening to lies and fairy tales.read more

‘Can’t even login to my account. Was transferred to Shell when Post Office sold their phone and broadband to them last year. They must be the most incompetent providers on the market. Deal ends soon so I’ll be outta here!’: ‘Shell Energy are absolutely clueless and appear to know nothing about phones and customer service is certainly not their forte.’: ‘The worst company I have ever dealt with. Had no broadband since 20 May ( now 14 July). No explanation from Shell. They have not responded to letters or on- line attempts by myself. You wait on phone until you give up. Dreadful company.’: ‘Switched to Shell Energy Broadband. Lost my internet connection. Met with a wall of silence from customer services…’: ‘Disgusting customer service. In short I have had major issues with internet connection and phone line; the problem has mainly been since Shell took over from Post Office. Interrupted internet for 4 months and very slow or no connection for long periods…’: Do not use this company, you have been warned! worse than TalkTalk, Blatent lies about speeds…’read more
This company is going from worse to absolute sh**e.The app is terrible and doesn’t give you the info you require or it isn’t supported.

Our home broadband has been very temperamental recently, disconnecting no less than 20 times a day. Speed is terrible, a tiny bit more than dial up! I’ve been trying to get support with no luck, and the only reply I received was a week ago by email – that’s all. I’ll take the matter further by seeking legal advice to leave this contract before it ends. This level of customer service with such low speed is not acceptable in 2022!read more
If you have broadband and homephone from this company and pay quarterly be warned. My bill was sent out late and I paid by return of post. The money was taken from my bank account and I thought no more about it.
Then I received a suspicious automated phone call threatening to cut off my phone and broadband. Thinking this sounded like a scam particularly as payment was requested over the phone I phoned Shell to point out someone was making scam calls on their behalf, since I knew I’d paid the bill. But it was not a scam they were deadly serious. ‘Bills were sent out late and it takes a while for payments to be received in our accounts’.
What a pathetic response from Shell! I’d expect a commitment to send bills on time, set realistic deadlines and to cease threatening automated calls. Was this irrelevant response also written by a machine??read more
Households thinking of moving broadband and landline services to Shell Energy may want to think twice after complaints about it soared in the first three months of the year.
It received twice as many complaints than the industry average for its broadband services, according to Ofcom – and more than three times’ as many for its landline offering.
Overall, complaints sent to the industry regulator stayed broadly the same as the last three months of 2021, its data shows.read more
