WiFi keeps dropping Internet connection but broadband still connected. Not easy to speak to a person, 45 mins+ phone wait, get through to someone who does not have much idea what to do and then get cut off and they don’t ring you back. How can this possibly be called customer service? Argue that they are using a contract duration to avoid sorting out the problem and they have no answer. Dreadful.read more

Aug 25 (Reuters) – Shell Plc’s (SHEL.L) UK retail energy business has to pay 536,970 pounds ($635,181) for overcharging some customers on its default tariffs which are subject to a price cap, Britain’s energy market regulator Ofgem said on Thursday.

Express: Shell Energy to hand refund to tens of thousands of Britons for overcharging on tariffs
SHELL’S consumer energy business caused “additional and unnecessary stress” by overcharging more than 11,000 customers in Britain for their pre-paid tariffs, regulator Ofgem has said.
Shell Energy Retail will offer refunds to those affected for the overpayment, along with goodwill cash and a redress fund for consumers held by the energy watchdog. Some customers were accidentally overcharged on their tariffs for periods of time from January 2019.
Ofgem said customers would receive an average refund of around £9.40. It comes as rising wholesale gas prices – which Shell Energy’s parent company has made healthy profits from – are expected to push household energy bills as high as £4,200 a year this winter.read more

My basic problem with Shell is that every time I call, I’m on the line for 40 – 50 minutes, most of it ‘on hold’: “Actually speaking to a human is near impossible unless you have a spare 2hrs to spend trying to get through.”

Broadband – Cheap, but very very nasty! Cut my service off in error and will not communicate or advise any updates on restoration, a number of emails to customer service and members of the Executive team (Ed Kamm, Alexander Constatine, Tony Keeling, Andy Davies) have been ignored!
now 7 days and counting without a Broadband service and no idea when it will be restored… Take my advice – DO NOT USEread more
Money grabbing scum bags, they have had record profits this year and continue to increase my DD amounts even though i have solar panels and am in credit! Will be switching providers as soon as possible
Paying £325 in advance of bill monthly. Account in credit and credit is increasing each month. So now they are saying I need to pay £408.00 or a one off payment of £496.21 for a prediction in February which has been wrong by +£200 each month, “To keep your account on track”. Evidence below. Abysmal service. Cannot get through to speak to someone who can actually assist. Biggest regret switching to Shell broadband. They do not care about the customer at all! Broadband was supposed to go live 08 August. Eventually sorted 12th August. Received a bill for more than what was quoted even though I had no service initially. Not a happy customer. Can somebody at Shell broadband please actually help??read more
I haven’t had my first bill yet and I spent so much time holding the line with their customer service. Never manage to have a resolution but only be passed between customer service, retention service and technical support.. not a single person has taken ownership of the issue or got anywhere close to giving me a solution. I’m dreading the thought I’m now stuck with them for over a year. What a massive mistake !!
PS Not once I’ve been given the name of the person I was talking to; this makes me very worried about the authenticity of the previous reviews praising individuals for their “great” service !!read more
