Does Shell Energy Customer Service Actually Exist?

6 MAY 2022

The content below is sourced from current verifiable customer reviews of Shell Energy published on Trustpilot.

Worst customer service ever

Worst customer service ever! 3 x calls, all over an hour and still no answer from customer services! Disgusting!! no other way for my 82 year old client to contact them – the worst customer service I have ever experienced and I have experience of dealing with DWP and HMRC – these guys are muppets! Do not use!!

Awful Company to contact

I have waited for 50 minutes, twice, waiting for Customer Service (does it actually exist?) before having to hang up. I need to sort out my late Mother’s account after receiving a statement showing a CREDIT, but with a demand to pay. It seems her phone service with the Post Office was taken over by Shell Energy. Life is distressing enough at the moment without navigating a large Company like Shell not having a half decent way to help me sort out my query. Appalling! read more

Shell and BP should plough every spare penny back into the North Sea

The Telegraph

Shell and BP should plough every spare penny back into the North Sea

Oil giants should be putting every spare penny into the North Sea, alongside green energy projects, instead of shareholder windfalls

: CHIEF CITY COMMENTATOR:

“Another day, another oil and gas company making billions in profits,” decried Ed Miliband after Shell’s latest profit gusher. Yes, and another predictable call for a windfall tax from opposition politicians desperate to win votes.

As bandwagons go, there have been plenty of opportunists keen to clamber aboard this one, in a week when local elections are taking place up and down the country.

Still, Shell and BP only have themselves to blame. It’s not that a windfall tax is necessarily justified. It isn’t. Ironically, by neglecting Britain’s energy security, a succession of short-sighted political figures, including some of those now bleating about the injustice of today’s profiteering, have probably done more to help create the current energy crisis than the industry itself. read more

Shell’s Russia Exit Includes Plans To Sell Fuel Stations

Shell Plc is reportedly in discussions over the sale of Shell Neft, its chain of retail fuel stations in Russia, as part of its exit plan in the aftermath of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine, Bloomberg reported on Friday.

“We can confirm the ongoing negotiations on the sale of Shell Neft, which owns a retail network and lubricants plant which is located in Torzhok,” Bloomberg cited Shell’s press office as saying in a statement. “Our key priority is safety of our people and operations, maintaining employment and compliance with the Russian legislation.”

Shell Neft owns both a 370-strong retail network of fuel stations and a transport and logistics complex with oil facilities in Russia. read more

Shell obtains injunctions against U.K. climate protests

Shell has obtained injunctions from U.K. courts that pave the way for protesters to be fined or put in prison if they block or damage petrol stations and other oil facilities in England and Wales, the firm said on Friday.

The move follows several protests in recent weeks by climate activists such as Extinction Rebellion and Just Stop Oil.

It mirrors steps taken by other oil firms including Exxon that were backed by Britain’s business department, which says the right to protest should not cause disruption to people’s everyday lives. read more

Shell CEO points out loopholes in Russian oil sanctions after announcing record profits

BY CHLOE TAYLOR: May 5, 2022 4:16 PM GMT+1

Planned embargoes on Russian oil may be thwarted due to the way the global crude supply chain works, Shell’s CEO explained on Thursday.

Speaking after Shell reported record quarterly profits, Ben van Beurden, the oil giant boss, told reporters that the framework of the world’s crude network left loopholes open in Western government bans on Russian oil.

This is because imported fuels like gasoline, which might have been made from Russian oil but refined outside of Russia, cannot always be traced back to their natural source. read more

Fossil fuel companies like Shell and BP are raking in massive profits, and this could be just the beginning

Fossil fuel companies like Shell and BP are raking in massive profits, and this could be just the beginning

BY TRISTAN BOVE: May 5, 2022 8:33 PM GMT+1 Oil prices have been soaring this year, as Western sanctions hit the Russian economy hard, disrupting the global oil supply from one of the world’s largest producers. But while high gasoline prices at the pump make life difficult for consumers, fossil fuel companies are making a killing.Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine over two months ago, Brent crude, an international benchmark for oil pricing, has surged past $100 a barrel, the highest oil has sold for since 2012.

According to the latest round of quarterly reports from the world’s largest oil and gas companies, the fossil fuel industry has been benefiting massively from this surge. Demand for energy this year has soared as economies rebound from historically low demand during the pandemic, and coupled with a constrained supply from Russia, one of the world’s largest fuel exporters, the rest of 2022 could be just as profitable for fossil fuel companies. read more
