Broadband and customer care sadly…

Broadband and customer care sadly lacking, got hung up on twice and had to ring back and rejoin the back of queue twice, ended up been on the phone over 1hr 50mins. Once I did eventually get through to someone, who didn’t hang up, I was told it was all customer hardware issue, as usual internet providers always pass the book down to the customer rather than dealing with the problem, which is faulty router…. Been a ex postoffice broadband customer, Shell took on all postoffice contracts, I was then asked well what’s your contract agreement with post office, so yet again I had to argue the fact that shell had taken on the contracts that ex postoffice customer had held for the broadband accounts n they had to honour that, they denied that. So I then asked how they had all my personal details if they hadn’t taken on my contract from postoffice broadband, he couldn’t answer, eventually I hung up hadn’t the time to argue any further… My contract is due for renewal within the next few month, so I will be changing provider. read more

On two occasions Shell Energy…

On two occasions Shell Energy threatened my wife and myself with legal action and instructed a debt collection agency to contact us. But guess what? On both occasions we had already paid the bill.

Not happy to put up with this sort of despicable attitude, we approached Ombudsman Services and filed a complaint against Shell Energy. After some time investigating the matter, Ombudsman Services upheld our case. read more

£40bn profits for BP and Shell fuel calls for windfall tax on energy firms

‘Obscene’ amounts of surplus cash should be used to ease cost of living crisis, MPs told

Phillip Inman: Sat 5 Feb 2022 17.05 GMT

Oil giants BP and Shell are on course to make a combined profit of almost £40bn this year from the rocketing price of petrol and gas, fuelling calls for a windfall tax on energy firms to ease the cost of living crisis.

Before BP’s annual results this week, anti-poverty campaigners described the profits of oil producers as “obscene” and demanded the government take action to tax their surplus cash to support poorer families hit by rising energy bills. read more

Shell discovers light oil offshore Namibia, in first for southern African country

Energy major Shell has confirmed a light oil discovery at the Graff-1 well offshore Namibia, marking the first oil find for the southern African country, a company spokesperson said Feb. 4.

“Results from our exploration well are encouraging, establishing the presence of a working petroleum system with light oil,” the Shell spokesperson told S&P Global Platts. “We’ll continue evaluating the data and conduct further exploration activity to determine the extent of the system and how much of the hydrocarbons can be recovered.” FULL ARTICLE

Oil major Shell expects its Prelude FLNG unit in Australia, the world’s largest unit of the type, will remain shut for most of the first quarter of 2022.

The world’s largest FLNG facility had in January 2021 year resumed LNG cargo shipments, almost one year after a shutdown caused by an electrical trip, only to be shut down again in December 2021 after a sudden loss of power, and subsequent failed attempts to re-establish reliable power aboard. read more
