Shell broadband is absolutely shocking

4 Dec 2021

The content below is sourced from current customer reviews of Shell Energy Broadband published on Trustpilot.

Just shocking

Just shocking, keep getting booted out of internet. Have to keep resetting in password. I live in the central part of Essex not a rural location at all. Even struggles with a ring doorbell

This wifi is shellish (don’t be deceived by the pun, my blood is boiling)

You know what the best part of my day is? For about ten seconds, from when I wake up and when I pick up my phone, ’cause I think, maybe I’ll load a page up and the Shell Wifi will work.

Avoid!

Got their service in the summer, and it wasn’t fit for purpose from day 1. Slow or non-existent. Decided to cancel, but they insisted on a £100 cancellation charge. My wife eventually paid it, although I’d have been happy to have seen these scoundrels in court. If you need internet services, go ANYWHERE other than using Shell. They closed our complaint prior to getting anywhere near resolving the issue (a blatant mis-sell in my opinion, and the utter brass neck of asking for a £100 cancellation charge when the service was not fit for purpose. Their blatant lies in signing us up for a third rate service are the sort of thing OFCOM needs to be made aware of.

Avoid Shell at all times and in all circumstances!

Bad company dont not use

Shell broadband is absolutely shocking, if it not sending emails and tx to say the havent recieved payment when they had they then apprently take 10 days to send a refund claiming its policy! Yet also send emails asking for the broadband box to be sent back which as already been sent via tracking. To that is all automated! Turn it off! So 5 times i rang shell broadband past pillow to post to spk to last person reenie who argumentaly told me she was refusing to put through for a manager i was requesting to call me back so i could compain. Point blank refused. As customer service and by trading standards you are obilgated to at customers request. This company is bar far for robbing money n giving nothing back!

Joined them as they are cheap

Joined them as they are cheap. But they are not sure worth it, stay away from them. Our cheap hub hasn’t worked since we got it over a month and a half ago. We’ve been calling and doing online chat since and they just keep sending us out engineers who keep saying that the hub is broken but they are refusing to send out a hub even though it’s their fault. Anyway I’ve asked to cancel and they they said that I would be charged £80 odd. I’m now waiting for another call back from a manager. I just want out but they won’t let me, I don’t even want the issue fixed now I just want out. Avoid them

EDIT *** the reply from Sara is incorrect I haven’t been in contact since writing this review. No one seems to know anything at this customer service centre. Ridiculous

Worst thing since the breakup of NSYNC

By far the worst part of my (otherwise ideal) life. Every day I wake up at 6:30 am to start my grind for uni in order to account for the approx. 1 hour of time I have to spend waiting for pages to load. I have nearly failed my maths course due to the lowest ping levels this side of the third world. I suspect I am close to reviving an ASBO for the amount of slander I have screamed at my router at half past three in the morning. In summation my disappointment is unimaginable and I will be speaking to my lawyers in regards to seeking compensation for my emotional distress endured. This isn’t what Tim Bernard-Lee died for.
