If you join Shell Energy through a cash back website. Shell Energy will not honour the cash back. You will have to make an official complaint, and then have many, many phone calls before they will eventually honour the cashback.
This is what I had to do. Now my father has joined Shell Energy through Quidco back in March. It is now August and Shell Energy still hasn’t paid Quidco the Cashback. So looks like the same hassle above is going to have to happen again. But my Dad is in his 70’s so I’ll need to get him to give me permission to deal with it.
I ATTEMPTED TO RENEW MY TARRIFF EFFECTIVE FROM END OF AUGUST. SHELL RENEWED IT IMEDIATELY, WHICH MEANT I WAS PAYING THE INCREASED TARRIFF A MONTH BEFORE NECESSARY.
I HAVE SPENT OVER 3 HOURS ON THE PHONE AND STILL NOT HAD AN EMAIL CONFIRMING THAT THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN SORTED!
Company took excessive final payment…
Company took excessive final payment (over £300 in excess of actual reading) and then continue to withhold refund payment even when provided with photographic evidence of the reading. Totally unethical as they are essentially withholding money they have no legal entitlement to on the basis that it is for energy that has not even been used (totally a whopping £300). I would never return to them following this experience. I am now back with one of the main suppliers and I will continue to stay with these in future. Meanwhile I continue to fight for my refund.
The worst e nergy company out there
The worst energy company out there. Been a year and a half to sort out electric meter and three different times it’s been changed. Told it was a two rate meter to then be told that shell don’t do two rate meters!!!! So after having the meter changed two more times we get told that because they couldn’t get readings it’s estimated for last year and beginning of this year and I now owe £2800. Sure they think I live in a six bed mansion and not a three bed council house.
