Totally Horrendous

We are still experiencing problems with our broadband from Shell Energy. It is totally unreliable. During the call last night to the support service, we were advised to insert wires into the wireless router!!! A totally impractical suggestion, which confirms that the wireless router is not fit for purpose. I have 9 and a half months to live with this horrendous broadband service until I can get out of the contract. Switching to Shell Energy Broadband is the worst broadband decision I have ever made. If you want to avoid the stress me and my family have experienced in just 10wks, please don’t contract with Shell Energy for your Broadband service, they are clearly cheaper for a reason

Broadband should have gone live on 09…

Broadband should have gone live on 09 June 2021.
Still not live 17 June 2021. Fobbed of with obscure excuses by support team who at no time indicated that they had tested the line.
I’m 75 and have mobility problems. I live where the Mobile signal is very weak so must go outside to make calls as I had no WiFi calling, no landline and no internet. This caused many problems including one of my family travelling 20 miles to see if I was O/K because they could not contact me by phone, text or email. Lost patience with Shell and went to Virgin who connected my within 2 days. Now Shell are demanding £120 for disconnecting the service that was never connected and £20 for a month for the non use of the service. Not what I expected for a huge organisation.

Internet? Really……

It’s taken me 3 days to write this review….. Have a guess why?

Because the Internet you provide is absoulute crap. From one rubbish provider to another, the torture continues. The worrying thing is…… You were reccommeded.

The broadband switch over didn’t happen…

The broadband switch over didn’t happen until 2 days later than planned and I found it very difficult to find a contact number for Shell to find out what was happening. In the end I had to buy a 3 mobile broadband dongle.I received a phone call from Shell in response to my email over a week later and was told because I was using my car phone they couldn’t speak to me. It was a very stressful experience.

Will need to pay £12 charge to leave…

Will need to pay £12 charge to leave broadband regardless of whether or not you’re in/out of contract. It is in the terms and conditions however most other broadband providers don’t have such a charge and Ofcom have asked this company to justify this “cease charge” believing it’s unfair and unnecessary

Would give 0 stars if I could

Would give 0 stars if I could! We informed Shell that we were moving out of a house on 30th April and gave the final meter readings at that time and the names of the new occupants. As the new owners gave their energy provider different meter readings, Shell have taken the balance from my account – meaning that we have paid for someone else’s gas and electricity for 62 days. How can this be legal and the Customer Service at Shell cannot see this is wrong!

Very frustrating.

We have had a dreadful time with Shell while moving home. Filled in all the forms online but had to change to another supplier for a month. Then call after call to try and get a replacement smart meter. We now have an appointment which is 4 months after moving. Very frustrating.

Kept the agent awake! Yawn

Nadeem answered my call today. From the beginning of the conversation, he seemed unbothered and lacked energy, even yawning a couple of times. I would not say he was rude but having worked in customer service myself, you would expect a little more enthusiasm! I felt like I was keeping this agent awake. Not good at all.

I have been chased now by Shell Energy…

I have been chased now by Shell Energy for a bill I do not owe. Despite emails and endless attempts to call which you are just on hold for hours no one has responded to me. Now have debt collectors chasing me and shell emailing me saying they are recording a default on my credit file. Yet again this morning I have tried to get through to them twice. The stress is awful. Customer service seems non existent. If someone from Shell reads this and actually wants to help the account number is 4137235

Mis sold as cheapest energy on the…

Mis sold as cheapest energy on the market when we found out we tried to stop the change over, told to ring back days later so it fell outside the 14 day cooling off period. They are dishonest untrustworthy and not to be touched

Problem with line

Problem with line – told it is openreach problem. Taken a while to get sorted and all the time I have no connection or phone. No offer of compensation despite the issue. When I got in touch they were able to advise when the last communication with the router was, but why then was something not done when it was obvious that there was no longer any communication. VERY DISAPPOINTED and not even 2 weeks in to new service.

You tell me you are ready for my meter…

You tell me you are ready for my meter readings, then when I log in you tell me you are not quite ready yet and don’t have my electricity meter details. If that is the case don’t ask for my readings until you are ready. This is not a good start!!

Awful in every way
