Rubbish broadband

Sometimes I can’t get WiFi in the same room as the router, the rest of the flat is on existence. Contacted Shell and they said the agreement is to provide broadband and not WiFi and that I should use an Ethernet cable to any device rather than WiFi. This is 2021 and not 1921!

This is advertised as fibre but the speeds are really poor. It’s terribly frustrating when you’re working from home.

My download speed is 0.13Mbps which makes downloading a web page take several pages.

Worse – I’m stuck in contract until November!

If you want a broadband that only works…

If you want a broadband that only works 50%of the time then go for shell, If you want a broadband that fails when you most need it then go for shell, if If you want a broadband that that fails to give you the service it promises and tells you, you should upgrade then go for shell,

Very poor and intermittent service

I find this service to be completely unreliable. It is slow, buffers and fails to play internet tv. It is very frustrating and as soon as I find time to research, I shall be changing my provider.

Poor service

When I signed up with Shell i was not notified that Talk Talk would be the Broadband provider. They had previously told me that i was too far ca 2000 metres from the nearest green junction box to be able to offer a reliable connection. When I asked if I could be released from my contract I was told I had to pay. I nost certainly do not recommend Shell Energy!

Almost two months now I can’t even get connected, just paying for nothing. I’ve tried to contact Shell broadband customer services but can’t get through. I’ve even emailed know response. So I’m really not happy about the thing paying for service I’m not use

Say your prices won’t rise… and then you rise them

Say your prices won’t rise, direct quote from my welcome email: “now that you’re with Shell Energy Broadband, you won’t ever have to worry about a price rise at the end of your contract”…. cue a rise in my monthly direct debit WITHIN the contract and which is impossible to leave without losing rewards. Shambles of a customer service too, and your internet provision isn’t superfast likes it advertised. More mediocre. Won’t be returning at the end of my contract.

horrendous service go with someone else .

after trying countless times to complain and resolve my broadband that was not working or being so slow it was un unusable i decided to go with BT where since then i have had no issues at all.
i have tried to cancel my service as it simply was not working despite engineer visits. now they are trying to charge me an early cancel charge which i have spent hours each time trying to resolve with no joy.
i plan to take my complaint to the ombudsman as i will not allow them to get away with trying to charge me a service i did not receive.

21 pound a month when the download…

Reply to my review she’ll broadband would like to know why u only respond to good reviews ….21 pound a month when the download speed is 1mps is terrible I am in deep regret of applying for shell energy broadband as nothing but problems also I applied for 17 pound a month but u rise price and give me bad WiFi u should be ashamed virgin media here I come way better 20 pound a month and I don’t have to wait 3 days for 1 game to download and to wait 30 mins to upload a story n Snapchat absolutely dreadful take this WiFi and make it better because you are ripping 20 percent of these people off…tell the truth we know your going to lie for that pay check!

Utterly incompetent – will complain to Ofgem

Yet another interaction with Shell, yet more mistakes and reminding them of past communications which should all be accessible on the account.

Shell cannot calculate any of my bills correctly. It keeps trying to charge me for a meter I never used, which I have discussed with them by phone and email. Last time, I was told that meter reading would be discarded, only to see it appear on my latest bill.

In the meantime, Shell are sending repeated automated emails for a third amount, which is also wrong and was also raised with their team weeks ago. Automated systems are great if they work properly, but here I’m being hounded by a stupid computer and a stupid computer.

My issues with Shell have been going on for 10 months now and almost everything that could go wrong has gone wrong. I am going to make a complaint to Ofgem.

Speed and connection pathetic

Absolutely useless at trying to get smart meters fitted. 6 months wasted, holidays wasted and all the double checking to ensure the right engineer came out with the right kit completely ignored.

Don’t go there unless you have unlimited acceptance of incompetency, it really isn’t worth it.

The meter installation appointment was this morning, only the chap that turned up said he couldn’t do it, hadn’t been made aware it was a medium pressure gas supply, wasn’t qualified and didn’t have the right parts. Needless to say that is exactly what we have been discussing with Shell for the last 6 months.

Shell Energy are expensive!

Shell Energy came to my door and convinced me that I was paying too much with my current gas and electricity suppliers and I fell for their con! Now in a space of 6months I have managed to accumulate over £300 debt with them, living in a new build and being health Care workers we are never at home ! I will definitely be switching. Don’t fall for their lies! Do not sign up with Shell Energy!

Not impressed with this company

Not o pressed with this company. I have never received service from you and have been charged DD from end of last year to current date. I would like to be refunded for what has been taken. Check your records. I have been mislead by your team members via phone and promised so much. This needs to be sorted. To add insult to injury I was told yesterday that you would charge me further for cancelling my contract. This is a joke and customer service is awful. Someone please help here.
