Royal Dutch Shell plans to operate as many as 2.5 million electric vehicle charging points globally by 2030 under a new emissions-reduction strategy that will see its oil output decline.
The Anglo-Dutch oil giant sought to flesh out its 2050 net zero emissions goal with a plan to focus on customer-facing business such as electricity sales, rather than power generation like its peers. It intends to operate half a million charging points by 2025, up from 60,000 today, and could increase this to 2.5 million by the end of the decade.read more

Work has stopped on the 120MW Gangarri solar project near Wandoan in Queensland – the first major solar farm to be built in Australia by global oil giant Shell – after an alleged dispute over payments between contractors led to the standing down of up to 230 workers on Monday. Shell enters supply deal with Amazon to provide renewable energy
Reuters Staff: FEBRUARY 8, 2021
(Reuters) – A unit of oil major Royal Dutch Shell said on Monday it has agreed to supply Amazon.com Inc with renewable energy, which will help the U.S. online retailer power its business completely using clean energy by 2025, five years before its target.
Shell Energy Europe BV said it will provide the renewable energy from a subsidy-free offshore wind farm constructed off the coast of the Netherlands. (go.shell.com/2MCUTbA)read more
My Shell broadband service was installed in early December, I thought I’d treat myself to an upgrade while switching.
Unfortunately since the switch the connection is down every couple of hours, each day, from anywhere from a few minutes to many hours.
Shell’s support team, while very hard to get hold of, are most friendly when you reach then, but after three engineer appointments and seemingly no case tracking of the issue, they have still not been about to indicate when the issue might be resolved, not will they permit me to a more competent supplier.read more
For eighteen months I have tried to advise this company that I had moved into the property.
Constant telephone calls and even an email to the CEO did not help.
Tried giving details and were informed that the house did not exist, was asked twice to photograph the meters and were generally unhelpful. Then they charged the previous occupant an enormous amount which they took out of their bank account illegally, even though they had paid their last bill before we movedread more

I decided to switch to Shell broadband which turned out to be a service from hell. Just save yourself the headache and avoid.
I waited for over 3 weeks for the service to go ‘live’. This never happened. I tried to contact them and they were unable to help solve the matter. After days of going back and forth without internet (I work from home so I couldn’t function). I was told by one of the staff who wasn’t helpful at all, that I was sent a faulty router. He also maintained that this wasn’t their fault which left me confused and even more frustrated. He was probably trying to put the blame on a third party. At this point, I knew I was done with the appalling provider and service.read more

Bonn: 02 Feb 2021: 12:17 CET
(Montel) Shell Energy Europe has signed its first power purchase agreement with a solar project developer in Germany, the company said in a statement on Tuesday.
It has contracted for 9 GWh of power annually with Seac Invest, the developer of a 9 MW site in Fuerstenwalde in the eastern state of Brandenburg. The project has been delivering power since the start of the year.
“This solar power deal will help us to expand the range of low-carbon energy choices we offer to our customers in Germany,” said the head of European power at Shell Energ…
My experience with Shell Energy has been horrendous. I was previously with First Utility, who Shell Energy later acquired.
Without any communication, to inform us of the change, we had a letter from Shell Energy demanding £240 payment. Much like most of the reviews, we spent hours trying to get through to their customer service team with little success.read more
