problems with customer service

Although I had no problems whilst the account was running. When it came to moving supplier I have faced a lot of problems. My closing balance was incorrect and they charged me thousands of pounds incorrectly. It took a silly amount of phone calls to try and rectify this. The call centre staff are not trained well enough and do not listen to your query properly. Shell have refused to pay the money back to me via BACS and have sent a cheque = holding onto someone else’s money for longer. If you never have to call customer services then I doubt you’ll see a problem with them… if you do though be prepared to wait extraordinary lengths to speak to someone and for them then to talk to you and not understand what you’re saying.

dodgy energy supplier

Was with first utility for years no problems shell energy take over what a joke of a company charging what they want and customer service is shocking beware stay away I’m in the process of leaving

just to long on phone to get through to…

just to long on phone to get through to a human

Very poor customer support

Customer support is very poor as you have to wait at least 15 minutes to someone to answer the phone. Their callback service doesn’t work.

Shell bought over our previous…

Shell bought over our previous suppliers who were ‘First Utility’, we decided to stay with the new owners. In general things run smoothly but unfortunately the customer services does not appear to be up to standard.
They are easy to contact, but lacking in their response and action to problems. I have now reported the same problem 3 times without response. It is a pity for such a good company to be let down by incompetent staff.

Have had a lot of issues with moving…

Have had a lot of issues with moving house and having a new landline number. Nothing was being resolved although my emails were acknowledged to say someone would get back to me but rarely did. Then I spoke to Stefan who was understanding and helpful and we managed to reach a mutual agreement regarding the way forward. So after a lot of frustration and stress things have now been resolved.

Call Not Answered…

I can’t write a review about the actual telephone customer service but leave 1 star due to the fact I have been on hold 40 minutes with no call handler answering the telephone. Totally unacceptable these days. The query is concerning a Warm Home Discount if anyone at Shell Energy is interested. Now at 45 minutes on hold and have given up!

telephone response

My only complaint is the telephone, I had to hang on for nearly 1hr, my issues needed a conversation not a website. More telephone lines please.

The meter readers are rude and…

The meter readers are rude and uncivilised Even though a vulnerable person lives at our address with a password to enter. Does not give it and only words he said Meter reader.

Hopeless

Been with several energy suppliers but this must be worst. Takes at least 15 minutes to talk to someone and they have also mixed my direct debit up with someone else’s account. I would leave right away if I wasn’t going to be charged a leaving fee for doing so.

So this company decided to REFUSE to let me go to another provider, they are literally forcing me to stay with them, and charging me stupid amounts of money on top of that.

Until they actually let me go and leave me the alone, I will keep spreading as much awareness as I can to hopefully deter as many people away from being scammed and held hostage by this company.

Oh yeah and have fun calling them, you’ll be waiting hours to speak to a human, complete joke. By FAR the absolute WORST company I’ve ever had to deal with.

I wish I could rate them lower.

SCAMMERS

I have previously written a review for Shell giving it 1 star, if I could this would be 0 stars. My advice for anyone looking to switch to Shell is DONT. They are absolute con artists. I was left with a nearly £1000 final bill, when ringing up to explain this wasn’t possible for us to pay all in one go, I was told that was fine and they didn’t expect that from us and we could pay via a payment plan over the course of a few years. Still not perfect as I believe this bill to be a ridiculous overcharge anyway but better than paying over £900 all in one go. However, despite informing them of this and being reassured it wouldn’t happen – the money was taken from my account all in one go. Leaving me well into my overdraft and no money to pay for any of my upcoming bills and no money left to feed my children. I am absolutely disgusted and SHOCKED, that a company with such a household name could be such CON ARTISTS. We feel like we’ve been targeted due to being unable to pay, therefore having interest and extra payments added onto the debt. I only have one regret in life and it’s sticking with these scammers when they changed from First Utility who I had absolutely no issues with. If you do switch to Shell, be prepared for them to ruin your life and your finances.
