Greenpeace members have blocked BP’s headquarters with solar panels and oil barrels to mark Bernard Looney’s first day as chief executive.
About 100 environmental activists took 500 solar panels to the central London building at 3am on Wednesday as Looney prepared to take up his new role. Some protesters sat underneath the solar panels after they were prevented from installing them on the pavements and roads near the office.

MILAN, Feb 5 (Reuters) – A Milan court has rejected a prosecution request to hear testimony from a former legal adviser of Eni who has accused the company of spying on judges, offering a boost to the Italian oil firm as it fights bribery allegations over a Nigerian oil field.
The ruling removes the prospect of months of testimony voicing allegations of wrongdoing by Eni and sets a timetable for finally reaching a verdict in the long-running case.
The decision is the second piece of bad news in a few days for Milan prosecutors after a witness last week refused to confirm a key statement.

It seems reading between the lines that the power problems, the terrible PR, the fall in the LNG price etc, but particularly that they could not continue working on the plant intrusively with inadequate isolation, are all factors.
Perhaps this is a chance to remedy what appears to be a significant amount of defects including defective process isolation and venting in the design, inaccurate drawings P&IDs etc and incorrect identification of equipment – as an example the RV being replaced was wrongly tagged.
Only last week Shell chief executive Ben van Buerden told analysts the Prelude was evidence of how new assets would improve the gas giant’s cash flow in 2020.

I have tried three times to talk to someone about my account today, and the only loop I end up in is your telephone loop. I have asked to be passed to a supervisor/manager, and both Kyle and Shahid on separate calls put me back into your telephone loop, which is never answered. I have emailed customer services and not yet been contacted back. Their chat line is automated, or seems to be, and I am completely unable to chat to anyone who can help me. Their service levels are appalling.
